The documentary “The Postai Family”, produced by the Israel Film Service, presents the story of the immigration and absorption in the country of the Postai family. Avner (Eugen) and Martha-Ruth are natives of Hungary who came to the Czech Republic in 1947 where they ran a small farm. Over the years, the two discovered their Jewish roots and from that moment on, they decided to make aliyah. Together with their 13 children, they came to Israel to Kfar Saba, where they decided that they wanted to live in a moshav to fulfill Avner’s dream of establishing a farm, and also that a family with 13 children needed more space. The task was not easy and many seats refused to accommodate a family with 13 children. Eventually, they reached Moshav Ben Shemen who was willing to receive them with great joy. For a start, the family was given a small house with two and a half rooms and around a courtyard, with vegetation the height of a man, full of snakes and animals, but as time went on the family managed with hard and joint work to establish a glorious house with a thriving farm. The children of the family help to raise each other and are well integrated socially in the session.
