The film “Independence Day Parade 1965”, produced by the Israel Film Service, presents the IDF parade held in Tel Aviv on the occasion of the country’s 17th birthday. In a parade held in front of President Zalman Shazar, IDF Chief of Staff Yitzhak Rabin, and tens of thousands of spectators, including public figures and representatives of foreign countries and armies, the various IDF troops were presented with an aerial demonstration of planes and helicopters. In order parades, this parade was the first time a representation of the Air Force on the ground with the development of the army’s new “Hawk” missiles.
