For the first time since the end of the Six-Day War, the graduation ceremony of the Artillery Officers’ Course is taking place. Unlike previous years, the fresh officers already come with combat experience, and this time many of them come from the collective agricultural labor settlements, having joined out of the needs of the war to the force that has become a source of pride for them. Yitzhak Rabin, the Chief of Staff, congratulates the outstanding soldiers, and Israel Ben Ami, the head of the corps, hand the officers their certificates. The journal team joined the Central Agricultural Mission led by Avraham Hertzfeld at the Nahal Yam settlement in Bardawil, Sinai. On the way, the mission passed through El Arish, where they held a briefing with Colonel Yekutiel (Kuti) Agam, and from there they continued to the settlement, through the ruins of war and the vast desert. The United Kibbutz Council gathers at Kibbutz Golan. The council heads go up to Tel Abu Nida to look at Konitra, and then the council gathers in the cinema hall, where Yitzhak Tabenkin, the leader of the United Kibbutz, speaks and calls on the settlers to hold onto the territories conquered in the war.
