A short documentary about Elyakhin: Initially established as an immigrant interim housing camp (ma’abara) settled entirely by immigrants from Yemen, the settlement became a local council in 1977 following the residents’ determined struggle for independent status to advance its development. The film chronicles the significant transformations the town has undergone over the years, as recounted by council head Benjamin Akharak. It highlights extensive investments in infrastructure, construction, and public spaces, the establishment of clinics, daycare centers, kindergartens, and schools, as well as the development of diverse leisure.
