A short film based on the children’s song by Kadia Molodowsky, produced by Sadot Films and the Kibbutz Movement Alliance.
Gedaliahu receives a beautiful new coat from his father, the tailor. After a few years, when the coat is already too small for him, he passes it on to his younger brother, Leizer. Every few years, the coat is passed from brother to brother, and slowly it wears out and its parts unravel, until nothing remains of it except holes. The song was translated from Yiddish by Nathan Alterman and published in Molodowsky’s collection of translated poems, “Open the Gate”.
