At the Presidents Residence in Jerusalem, President Yitzhak Ben-Zvi receives the First of Judah flag, official flag of a Jewish Legion that fought in World War I as part of the British Army. Alongside President Ben-Zvi, who was himself a member of the Jewish Battalion, stand his military secretary Yosef Carmel and his wife Rachel Yanait Ben-Zvi. A state ceremony is held at moshav Avichail at the presence of President Ben-Zvi and Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, where Beit Hagdudim, a museum dedicated to such legions, is inaugurated. Prime Minister Ben Gurion unveils the statue of Jabotinsky, alongside a statue of Trumpeldor, both by sculptor Nathan Rapoport.
