Rabbi Shlomo Goren is crowned Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv after serving as Israels military rabbi. The appointment ceremony is held in the Great Synagogue in Tel Aviv in the presence of heads of state, army, and the rabbinate. Speakers at the ceremony talked about absorption and immigration, about childbearing outside marriage, and about bridging between the religious and secular populations.
