At the Rachel Cinema in Ashkelon, the Israeli Film Festival opens in the presence of Tourism Minister Moshe Kol. The film Aliza Mizrahi is screened in the opening evening, and director Menahem Golan and the cast shake hands with the guests and take the stage after the screening. The festival, which lasted a week, ended in an awards ceremony for winners of a short film competition. Winners include directors Uri Zohar and Bella Baram.
