An Honorary Doctorate is awarded to Prof. Albert B. Sabin at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Sabin, a senior American-Jewish scientist in the field of Virology, discovered the viruses that cause infantile paralysis (Polio). Rector of the Hebrew University, Yoel (Giulio) Racah, delivers a speech in praise of the new laureate, after which Prof. Sabin receives the certificate from Hebrew University President Eliahu Eilat.
