An excerpt from A City Called Eilat, a documentary produced by Keren Hayesod to help United Israel Appeals fundraising campaigns abroad.
Only a few years after its establishment, Eilat already offers all the comforts and even the luxuries of a modern seaside resort. It has eight hotels and a beach and is surrounded by a pristine desert landscape. This excerpt documents tourists arriving at Eilat on a plane, staying in a hotel, visiting Solomons Pillars, water skiing, and diving. Gift shops in the city offer tourists ceramics from local materials and bottles filled with colorful sand.
