An excerpt from Degania Bet – a Glance at a Group, a documentary produced by the Jewish National Fund and Histadrut on the 50th anniversary of Kibbutz Degania Bet.
Due to the frequent Katyusha rocket attacks on Israels northern settlements, members of Kibbutz Dgania Bet decided that toddlers up to the age of three will regularly sleep in bomb shelters. Adapting ourselves to the idea was hard, but afterward, both mothers and children got used to it, says a kibbutz member. New shelters are being built in the kibbutz.
