A film produced by the Israeli Film Service which examines three development towns in Israel, Dimona, Beit She’an and Mitzpe Ramon. The film depicts the problems which face the communities, the level of the education systems and the various employment opportunities. At Mitzpe Ramon, a young couple moved here from Ramat Gan as part of a governmental campaign to encourage freelancers to move to development towns and receive government aid in housing. In Dimona the film takes an in-depth look at the education system in the city, as well as the employment opportunities in factories, mainly in the textile industry. In Beit She’an a case study is depicted, where a local initiative led to founding a new factory. Lastly the film examines the effects of various security threats in recent years on residents of Beit She’an and their subsequent local initiatives to secure the safety of the community.
