A short Israeli Film Service documentary about the War of Attrition in the Jordan Valley.
A series of skirmishes on Israels eastern border disturbs the peace on the Jordan Rivers banks. Members of the nearby kibbutzim seemingly carry on with their routine: farmers work in date palm plantations and fish ponds, pupils go to school, and couples get married. But the rapidly building fortifications, the IDF patrols, and the nightly alarms remind the residents that their home is now a warzone. This short film depicts life in the border settlements and includes interviews with an IDF soldier wounded in the battles, residents, and the commander of the Northern Command David Elazar.
