An excerpt from an English-speaking informational film intended for an international audience, offering a historical overview of the Israeli-Arab conflict from an Israeli perspective, from the beginning of Jewish immigration to Eretz Yisrael in the late 19th century and through the British Mandate of Palestine, establishment of the state of Israel and the War of Independence, the security threats along Israel’s borders throughout the years, and following the Six-Day War, the Suez Crisis and the Yom Kippur War. In the following clip the issue of the Palestinian refugees is exhibited through the Israeli perspective and logic of refugee exchange where Jews from Arab countries who immigrated to Israel as refugees are exceeding the number of Palestinian refugees who are currently living in Arab countries. Also depicted is the 1974 speech by Yasser Arafat at the United Nations General Assembly, where Arafat presents his vision of the Palestinian state in the international diplomatic arena. Warning: the clip includes graphic images (Directed, produced and written by: Ram Ron, cinematography: David Gurfinkel, Micki Wollman, Raffi Corenfield and Eitan Hadar, editing: Era Lapid)
