A film by Peter Freistadt, produced by Bituah Leumi (National Insurance Institute of Israel) and the Information Center (Hasbara), which offers a compassionate look at the loneliness and emotional distress that accompany retirement. Renowned theater actor Aharon Meskin portrays a man who recently retired, and is having a hard time finding his place the day after. On his first day of retirement, he takes a bus to work, as if it’s just another day at the office, but finds himself wandering aimlessly. He visits his estranged daughter, and later arrives at a forest where many elderly people sit motionless as they seem abandoned by society, and he is filled with fear of the future that awaits him. The humanistic film aims to raise awareness of the difficulties and loneliness that accompany retirement.
