Streets with deserted housing and destroyed electrical poles. Signs on buildings including Negev Industry, Jewish Agency for Israel, Jewish National Fund, Negev Hotel, Afikim Ltd. Three men exit a building, including Jerusalem Mayor Daniel Oster. Workers wait on trucks and work at a construction site. An audience at a tree planting ceremony by a sign reading: Expanded Beer Sheva Area, Redeemed by Canadian Jewry, via the Jewish National Fund. Photographers document the event. Yosef Weitz speaks. Chairman of the Jewish National Fund in Canada Anna Raginsky plants the first tree. Other planter include the military governor, the Jerusalem Mayor, WIZO representatives and Avraham Herzfeld.
