Spezia Immigrants Arriving in Haifa

The ships Dov Hoz and then the Eliyahu Golomb arrive at Haifa Port with more than a thousand immigrants. A Jewish flag flies on the mast. Immigrants wave as they near the dock. The immigrants disembark onto small boats. British soldiers stand on the pier and aid them. The immigrants are greeted by nurses and various public figures, including David Remez, Eliyahu Dobkin and Golda Meir. The immigrants board buses that start to leave the port area. A group marches by with a flag. The faces of the new immigrants in a camp in Atlit. Local children greet them and a parade is held in their honor.
