A magazine format television program produced by Keren Hayesod for a fundraising campaign in France. The segment combines a speech by Yitzhak Rabin with an extensive sequence of political, social, and everyday imagery from Israel and abroad. It includes black-and-white archival footage from the Yom Kippur War, Yasser Arafat’s appearance at the UN, and documentation of terrorism and antisemitism, alongside scenes highlighting Israel’s development in technology, industry, agriculture, and kibbutz life. Alongside these, archival materials present internal social tensions within Israel demonstrations, poverty, and the protests of the Black Panthers as well as moments of immigration and absorption at Ben Gurion Airport. The film also extends to the Jewish community in France, depicting street life in Paris, Jewish institutions, and educational activities for youth under the title "Youth at Risk." Through these juxtapositions, the program constructs a complex portrayal of identity, threat, and hope, seeking to mobilize international support and solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people.
