Fifty years after the fierce, symbolic Battle of Tel-Hai, the survivors – soldiers, medics, and villagers – reunite in the shadow of the reconstructed outpost to tell the story that shaped their lives and a nation. Through their interwoven memories, each narrator uncovers different — and sometimes conflicting — facets of the events: the moments leading up to the battle, the mounting tension, and the first shot that ignited the fighting. In the aftermath, eight Jews and five Arabs were killed, including Joseph Trumpeldor, the commander of the Jewish defenders of Tel-Hai.
