The new Mateh Asher Regional Council was created by uniting three regional councils: Gaaton, Naaman, and Sullam Tzur. The new council is located in the buildings of the Ga’aton Regional Council, and Avraham “Boniu” Ronen, the former head of the Ga’aton Council, was elected as the first head of the council. The two outgoing heads of the councils, David Cohen from Sullam Tzur and Azriel Dizitzer from Na’aman, talk about the uniqueness of the region, which is populated by small moshavim and kibbutzim, surrounded by nature and history. Israel Koenig, responsible for the Northern District in the Ministry of Interior, arrived to bless the first meeting of the new council.
