A film produced by Rachel Films on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the capture of the city of Lod.
“The industrialized, dynamic, and vibrant Lod is preparing for the future.” The city of Lod, which has survived thousands of years, empires, and various peoples, each leaving their mark, celebrates 25 years since the War of Independence. The challenge of the city in modern times, as Mayor Zvi Itzkovich says, is not only to ensure that the city keeps pace with the rapid population growth, but to integrate and consolidate socially the city, which is made up of populations of immigrants from Georgia, Kurdistan, India, Eastern Europe, and more, and to turn it into a city for everyone. Indeed, today Lod is developing rapidly, with its industrial zone and factories, schools, and youth clubs shared by Jews and Arabs, and even a colorful market day that brings sellers and buyers from all over the country every week. In a special ceremony to mark 25 years of independence for the country and the city, the Minister of Finance Pinchas Sapir, was awarded the title and certificate of honorary citizen of Lod.
