This documentary film by Nuit and Dan Geva explores the story unfolding in the city of Ofakim. Ofakim was founded in the 1950s to settle the borderlands and absorb immigration (mostly from North Africa). Despite its great promise, Ofakim experienced socio-economic hardships, exacerbated by another immigration wave in the 1990s primarily from the former Soviet Union and Ethiopia. The movie explores the complex city shifting from hope to disparity. A city whose residents are proud of its strong community where everyone knows and helps each other, but also feel that the government abandoned them and that their future is uncertain.
