Part One of Three, in the film by Honi Hameagel and Akko Theater, documenting the performance of the play “Arbeit macht frei in Toitland Europa”. Honi, with a video camera, filmed the five-hour show, performed by actors Smadar Jaaron and Moni Yosef at the The Ghetto Fighters’ House. The film delves into the struggles of second- and third generation Holocaust survivors and the influence of the Holocaust on the formation of Israeli society, with humor and satire. This part follows the theatrical events, starting from the audience boarding the bus to the guided tour at the Ghetto Fighters’ Museum, where the actress Smadar, portraying Zelma, a Holocaust survivor, serves as a guide to the audience.
