The movie follows the famous American doctor, Jonas Salk (developer of the polio vaccine), and his visit to the Hadassah medical institutes in Jerusalem. Dr. Kalman Man, who guided Dr Salk’s visit explained how Hadasa reached its achievements: “The vast hadassah medical organization is the outgrowth of a dream of the american Jewish woman of Hadasa and their desire for identification with Israel”. The movie presents Hadassah’s accomplishments including: founding 5 hospitals, treating polio disease, Hadassah’s nurse school, dentist treatment and more. Dr. Salk also visits the Hadassah medical center in Ein Karem which was being built at the time. After a tour in the area he said: “This is one of the most complete and magnificent centers I am aware of.”
