A short documentary produced by the Israel Film Service in collaboration with the Nahum Gutman Museum pays tribute to the least appreciated animal in nature – the donkey. The film opens with Israeli artists painting their interpretations of a donkey. Then it features a veterinarian discussing the animal’s remarkable durability and role in Bedouin society and ecological agriculture. Researchers also highlight the donkey’s significance in Christianity and the Talmud. The film concludes by showcasing the important imagery of the donkey in Nahum Gutman’s paintings
