A video by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, produced by the Israel Film Service.
Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. It used to be one of the main Jewish centers of pre-World War II Europe.
An Israeli youth delegation arrives at the city and explores its pastoral and beautiful cobbled streets and buildings. In the next few days, they will discover its rich Jewish history, which was almost completely wiped out during the war.
They find it difficult to comprehend that the large park in front of them was once a crowded and suffocating ghetto and that from the concentration camp they are visiting, almost the entire Jewish community of Prague was sent to the extermination camps.
What kind of impact does such a journey have on teenagers? Would it provide them added value? And how will it affect their Jewish and Israeli identity?
