The excerpt from “A Pictorial Review of Kolbuszowa” was filmed in Rzeszów in 1929. It is a rare testimony to life in a bustling East European shtetl, fundamentally different from the shtetl archetype. It shows the view towards the Square, Monument to the Great Polish Poet, Mickiewicz; Zamkowa Street and the Savings Bank; The Oldest Church in Town; The Jews National House; The Old Synagogue; Market Day in the Square; The Liberty Square (Third of May Square); Kosciusko Str.; Grunwald Avenue and the City Hall; Krakowska Str.; Teachers Seminary and High School; The Third of May avenue; Country House and Medieval Castle.
The full film is centered in Kolbuszowa‬, and several parts were dedicated to the towns of Rasznyzów, Sokołów, and Rzeszów. Pictorial Review of Kolbuszowa was shot with funding from the Kolbuszowa‬ Aid Association in cooperation with the Kolbuszowa‬ Youth Association. Pesach Zukerman produced the film with the intention of raising funds from former residents of the Stetl who emigrated to America.
