The excerpt from “A Pictorial Review of Kolbuszowa” was filmed in 1929 in Rasznyzów. It is a rare testimony to life in a bustling East European shtetl, fundamentally different from the shtetl archetype. It shows officials of Rasznyzów, a roadhouse where real bears are sold to the public, various types, a view of the city hall, a view of the city square, and the group photo of the “Future Generation.”
The full film is centered in Kolbuszowa‬, and several parts were dedicated to the towns of Rasznyzów, Sokołów, and Rzeszów. Pictorial Review of Kolbuszowa was shot with funding from the Kolbuszowa‬ Aid Association in cooperation with the Kolbuszowa‬ Youth Association. Pesach Zukerman produced the film to raise funds from former residents of the Stetl who emigrated to America.
