This documentary film, produced by the Israel Film Service and commissioned by Israeli government offices for educational purposes, follows events in the diary of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, focusing on the months of October and November, 1995, up until his assassination on November 4th at a peace rally in Tel Aviv. Various figures from Rabin’s life – such as his wife Leah Rabin, his bureau chief Eitan Haber, his lifelong adversary and colleague Shimon Peres, his personal drivers and many others – eulogize Rabin and share firsthand accounts of his comings and goings in the two months preceding the murder. This includes the political maneuvering required for the signing of the Oslo Accords, the subsequent opposition and protests, Rabin’s diplomatic voyages to Washington, D.C. and the hectic days leading up to the rally. As a whole, this collection of interviews and archival footage constitutes a detailed exploration of Rabin’s day-to-day struggles as leader and statesman, with interviewees providing their unique perspectives of historical and political events as well as heartfelt glimpses into their personal relationships with Rabin, his sentiments in the days leading up to his death and his final interactions with his friends and family.
