Footage from the archive of Jewish-American photographer Hazel Greenwald documents various segments, including passengers aboard the American cruise ship ‘Independence’ docked in the Haifa port in the spring of 1951, Independence Day celebrations in the streets of Tel Aviv, a special screening of ‘The Best Years of Our Lives’ at the Mughrabi cinema, women from ‘Hadassah’ undergoing exams at the nursing school and interact with children from the ‘Youth Elite.’ Alongside documentary clips depicting the photographer’s private life, staged shots feature a girl staring in amazement at a window before ultimately running away.
