This biographical documentary delves into the life of Chaim Herzog, the sixth President of Israel. Produced by the Israeli Film Service, the film traces his life course from childhood in Dublin to his tenure as a president. Filmed in Ireland and Israel, the documentary depicts Herzog’s experiences in the British army, his role in liberating Bergen-Belsen, his roles in the Hagana and the IDF, and his impact on shaping the image of Zionism in front of the global community. Through interviews with family and colleagues, Herzog emerges as a military figure, a senior diplomat, and a devoted family man. The documentary also reveals two family films directed by Herzog, featuring his son, Yitzhak “Bougie,” who will become the 11th President of Israel.
