A documentary film made by Judith Shenhar and Aliza Eshed, produced by Idan – the association for community services for the elderly in Jerusalem.
The film follows Esther Rotter, who survived the Holocaust as a child thanks to the Komarnicki family, a Polish farmer family who adopted and hid her. In 2006, Esther, now a grandmother, meets the family that saved her for the first time since World War II. Memories resurface during the meeting, and the strong connection that was once established is renewed. Shortly after the visit, the Komarnicki descendants come to visit Esther’s family in Israel. They travel together, spend time together, and even have a special ceremony to recognize them as Righteous Among the Nations.
