A collection of home photographs, from the Kibbutz Kfar Menahem archives, documenting special events from the stages of the kibbutz’s establishment and its lifestyles. The film presents photographs of the settlement’s rise to the ground, such as a tractor plowing a field in front of a large crowd that follows, construction work and erection of barracks and buildings, and the Israeli flag hoisting ceremony over the silo towers that constitute the settlement’s emblem and brand, soldiers and Hashomer Hatzair battalions in drilling exercises and defense training. Later in the film, the children of the kibbutz are seen taking pictures from the wall and packing books in preparation for evacuations from the kibbutz area on buses, and fortifying the kibbutz and digging canals by the remaining ones to protect it. At the end of the battles, a reception ceremony is held for the buses with the children returning to the kibbutz and family reunification. The children of the kibbutz play in the canals and climb the silo towers. Towards the end of the film, photographs of the kibbutz residents’ agricultural works in the vegetable gardens, coops and barns can be seen, and photographs of the children in the children’s home hang back the pictures they downloaded before their evacuation and return the books to the shelves.
