A brief documentation of the houses of the Arab town al-Tira, which was located in western Carmel and was destroyed by shelling during The 1948 Arab–Israeli War, after which Tirat Carmel was built on its lands. The clip was shot in 1935 or 1936 while driving on an old road before Highway 4 was paved in this section. The clip depicts the town houses built on the slopes of the western Carmel, as well as the town cemetery built near the road. The archive team wishes to thank Prof. Yossi Ben-Artzi for his scientific consultation concerning this footage.
