Eric Johnston, Special Representative of President Eisenhower regrading the water conflict in the Middle East, arrives on a visit to Israel. Johnston passes through the Mandelbaum Gate and shakes hands with the officers on site, after which he meets with Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett at Sharetts home in Ramat Gan, alongside senior officials of the Foreign Ministry. The current visit of envoy Johnston aims to mediate between Israel and Jordan and other Arab countries, regrading their dispute over the Jordan river water sources.
