Blind Date is a romantic comedy by Haim Bouzaglo that tells the story of Ron, Israel’s cultural attaché in Paris, and Maya, a Tel Aviv film translator working on the translation of Notting Hill.
Ron returns to Israel to finalize his divorce and, by chance, finds a business card with Maya’s name on it. Curious, he contacts her from Paris, hears her voice, and hangs up. From that moment on, an unusual courtship begins. Ron sends Maya postcards, flowers, and photos in which he does not reveal his face – and thus they fall in love without ever having met in person.
Eventually, Ron sends Maya a plane ticket to Paris. Their planned meeting does not go exactly as expected, but it propels their strange, romantic story forward.
