Filmmaker and director, Nissim Mossek began documenting Jerusalem’s Haladiya St. in the city’s Muslim Quarter back in 1986, following the murder of yeshiva student, Eliahu Amdi, that took place there. With footage collected in the course of two decades, Mossek examines the evolution of this highly ‘flammable’ street where Muslim locals live side by side with Jewish students that attend some of the city’s most radical, hardline yeshivas. The personal and political blend together when Mossek shifts his focus to Abu Bassem; a local man who owns a hummus stall in the Old City. The film took home an award for Best Editing at the Haifa International Film Festival. (Heb & Arb, Eng Sub.)
