Children’s notions and opinions on war and peace are at the heart of this film before us where director, Bella Baram set out to interview both Jewish and Arab kids (in the Occupied Territories) in the period between the 1973 Yom Kippur War and the 1979 Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty. The children are asked to express themselves through poetry writing and picture painting. Through the imagery and the texts produced and coupled with the children’s sessions with Professor Avner Ziv of Tel Aviv University’s School of Education, precious insights emerge about the price one pays for ideological fixation, and the necessity of compromise.
