A brother and sister wake up one morning, naked, and have an encounter with their own future selves. In his debut film, director Eliav Lilti takes this fundamental premise and moulds it into a bold and extraordinary piece of indie filmmaking. The plot traverses a series of human encounters made up of monologues about life and its meaning, and the inherent tensions between old age and youth, and blossoming vs. decay. Aided by gifted cinematographer, Nadav Hekselman, Lilti’s storytelling is complimented by some of the most sensual scenes ever captured on camera in Israeli film. “The most important thing you could probably say about Urban Tale is that Eliav Lilti has an exceptionally individual artistic voice which he uses to craft a film landscape of the most unique flavours and odours which, despite other discernible flaws, ultimately renders Urban Tale a fascinating and impactful cinematic piece.” (Marat Parkhomovsky, Walla).
